Israeli online daily Haaretz reported on Saturday the King Abdullah of Jordan will visit Israel and the Palestinian territories in the coming days.

According to Haaretz, Jordanian media reports quoted sources at the Jordanian Palace announcing the upcoming visit.

 

Haaretz reported that Abdullah was originally scheduled to arrive for a visit a few weeks back, but the plan was delayed.

The king will meet with the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, and the Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, in an attempt to revive the peace process and ensure its continuation, and build trust between the P.A and Israel, an Israeli governmental source reported.

 

Also, Kind Abdullah will emphasize of the need to strengthen the Palestinian authority in order to be able to control the Palestinian areas, and the areas which Israel intends to evacuate. 

A source in Amman said that king Abdullah urged the American President, George Bush, during his talks in Washington, to support the peace process and ensure that further Israel withdrawals are carried out in the west Bank.
