The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) reported, Sunday, that the Palestinian detainee, Luay al-Ashqar, has reached an agreement for his release after 49 days on hunger strike against his Administrative Detention with no charges or trial.
Al-Ashqar, 45, a married father of eight, from the northern West Bank village of Sida, north of Tulkarem, began his hunger strike in October of this year, immediately after being placed under Administrative Detention without charges or trial.
In related news, Hisham Abu Hawwash, 39, married and a father of five, from the southern West Bank city of Hebron, a Palestinian administrative detainee in Israel, who has been on hunger strike for 104 days to protest his administrative detention without charge or trial, is in serious health condition.
On November 22, the Palestinian administrative detainee, Kayed al-Fasfous, suspended his 131 day hunger strike, after reaching an agreement with the occupation authorities for his release.
This comes at the same time another hunger striker, Ayyad al-Hreimi, 28, from Bethlehem city, suspended his strike after 60 days to protest being held under Administrative Detention with no charges or trial.
On November 18, Palestinian detainee Ala’ Al-A’raj, 34, from Anabta town, east of Tulkarem in the northern West Bank, suspended his hunger strike after 103 days.
On November 12, detainee Miqdad al-Qawasma, 24, from Hebron in the southern part of the West Bank, ended his hunger strike after 113 days.
