The Israeli army decided to confiscate 2.5 dunams of Palestinian lands near Ath-Thaheriyya town, south of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, in order to build a military base in the area. Abdul-Hadi Hantash, an expert in maps and settlements, stated that the Central Command of the Israeli army decided to confiscate the privately-owned Palestinian lands close to the Ath- Thaheriyya roadblock, south of the town.

Hantash stated that the army also wants to install a military tower to monitor Palestinian traffic at the Ar-Ramadeen and Ath-Thaheriyya junctions.

He said that the latest violation is part of consecutive Israeli plans that aim at confiscating large areas of Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank, similar to Israel’s illegal policies in and around occupied East Jerusalem, including its ongoing settlement construction and expansion activities.
