Media sources said several navy ships attacked Palestinian fishing boats in the Al-Waha and As-Sudaniyya areas, and near Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the besieged Gaza Strip.
They said the navy fired a barrage of live rounds and used water cannons to spray the boats with wastewater mixed with chemicals.

The attacks caused damage but did not lead to casualties and forced the fishermen to leave without being able to fish to provide for their families.

In March of 2021, the Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza said Israeli mines were responsible for an explosion that led to the death of three fishermen.
