A settler seizes land near Jenin, and the Head of the Hamaz political Bureau makes his first appearance in Jordan in over a decade, these stories and more, coming up, so stay tuned.
Israeli trooped kidnapped, on Saturday at night and on Sunday at dawn, three Palestinians in Hebron city in the southern part of the West Bank, and in the nearby town of Beit Ummar, before taking them to an unknown destination.
The army broke into and searched the homes of Fathi Ikhlayyil, in Beit Ummar, and arrested his 23 year old son Nasr. The army also broke into the home of Nasser Al-Allami, and arrested his son Mohammad, 20, who had just returned a trip to Jordan. Also, soldiers based in the centre of the Old City of Hebron, detained Farid Al-Oweiwy, aged 26.
King Abdullah II of Jordan met the head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Khaled Mashal, on Sunday in Amman. Mashal is conducting his first official visit to Amman in twelve years; the official visit was conducted under the direct mediation of Qatar.
Mashal arrived in Amman along with the Crown Prince of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and were welcomed at the Amman Airport by Jordan’s Crown Prince, Hussein Bin Abdullah.
The officials then headed to Amman, and held a meeting with King Abdullah at the Royal Palace in Amman. During the meeting, the officials discussed the situation in Palestine and the efforts to implement the national unity agreement in Palestine.
In other news a Palestinian TV show has aired, causing controversy in Israel. In the weekly show dedicated to Palestinian prisoners inside Israel, the mother and aunt of Hakim Awad, who along with his cousin Amjad, were both convicted of five consecutive life sentences for the brutal murder of the Fogel family, in Itamar settlement last year.
His mother proudly describes him as the perpetrator of the attack, and his aunt describes him as a hero and a legend.
The two broke into the home Ehud and Ruth Fogel, and stabbed them to death, along with three of their young children, Yoav, 11, Elad, 4, and Hadas, 3 months old, before fleeing the scene.
The Palestine New and Info Agency, WAFA, reported that a Jewish settler illegally took over Palestinian land near the northern West Bank city of Jenin by enclosing the land in a fence, claiming that it belongs to him. The land was annexed by the wall, yet the land is still privately owned by Abdul-Raouf Barry and relatives of village. The settler, known only as Eli, has taken claim of the land, stating that he rents the land from the government.
